Summary:
We have chosen to update the technology in the classroom starting with the operating system on all classroom computers being upgraded to Windows 7. Updating the computers along with purchasing a Smart Board, document camera, ink-jet printer, digital camera, voice amplifier, and a student response system will create a streamlined more efficient way of teaching. These items will create a multi-use, multi-textured, fun, and interactive way of learning for the students.

We have also chosen 3 particular software programs geared specifically for Social Studies; Oregon Trail, Kidspiration and I Love The USA. These programs will help with several lessons plans involving exploring the manifestation of the west to Oregon, visual representations along with the ability for students to create maps and concept webs for projects of the United States. Programs like this will provide a fun way to explore while learning.
